
Health Ministry has reported on Monday that more than 302 patients have died due to H1N1 virus in the country till September 28, 2009. The ministry informed that four deaths have been reported from various states on Monday - one each from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi and Andhra Pradesh.
The ministry said that one death is reported from Kerala but its laboratory report is awaited.
Health ministry officials said that 177 new cases of Swine Flu have been confirmed on Monday out of which 8 cases are imported and rest are indigenous.
The highest deaths are reported from western state of Maharastra. Maharashtra alone accounted for 118 deaths due to the disease.
India’s IT state Karnataka accounts for the second highest deaths due to the deadly Flu virus with 98 fatalities so far.
Andhra Accounts for 32 deaths while 31 deaths are reported from western state of Gujarat.
A Health ministry official informed that total 41439 persons have been tested for H1N1 virus and nearly one fourth of them (23.8%) have been found positive.
